Classroom News
’Twas four days before break, in the middle school halls,
When chaos was brewing—no focus at all.
The doors were slamming, the voices were loud,
Energy buzzing in one giant crowd.
The backpacks were bursting with snacks and old notes,
And teachers were clinging to patience—and hope.
Assignments were due, but ignored with a shrug,
“Is this graded?” they asked, with a mischievous mug.
The pencils were tapping, the laptops all dinged,
While whispers of “break!” through the classroom walls rang.
The clock ticked so slowly, each second a tease,
As students stared hard, willing time to increase.
Some planned long sleep-ins, some trips far away,
Some simply dreamed of doing nothing all day.
The classroom was restless, the vibe hard to tame,
Even the quiet kids weren’t quite the same.
Yet teachers pressed on with a smile worn thin,
Review games, group work, “Let’s just check in.”
For learning still mattered (at least just a bit),
Though minds had already completely quit.
So here’s to those days right before break appears—
Full of laughter, low focus, and end-of-year cheers.
Four days to survive—then freedom’s in sight.
Happy almost–winter break, and to all… good luck!
In all seriousness, we have three days of instruction with the fourth day a day of fun. On Thursday, it is a free dress day. We are asking the kids that are in the sing a long dance to wear a red or green shirt with a santa hat. We have a day of fun planned for Thursday, but if we have kids that aren't working Monday-Wednesday, they will be required to do their work BEFORE they can participate in the Thursday fun. So let's make sure they are staying up on their studies.
Speaking of Thursday fun, we have a few items that we need for our party on Thursday.
