Grading

We use a grade keeping software called Gradekeeper. Reports are sent out twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays). On Wednesday, we send out a mid-week progress report. These Wednesday reports are an indicator of how much work your student has left to complete for the week.  Although the report is entitled "missing assignments," (we cannot change report titles within this software program), the assignments listed for the current week are not yet missing.  Most work is due by 8:30am on Friday morning. There are a few assignments due on Thursday. Please refer to the work chart for due dates. If you compare the "missing assignment" report with the work chart emailed home, you and your child should be able to converse regarding a plan to finish all of the week's work in adequate time.  If you see assignments from a previous week on their "missing assignment" report, these are truly late and should be a priority in terms of completion.

For example, all of this week's work is dated August 21st.  If the email you received has assignments dated August 21, then your student has tomorrow's work period and tomorrow night to finish these assignments.  If there are assignments in the email dated August 14th, then your student has not turned in last week's assignment(s) and these then become a priority.  Work will carry over from week to week, as we expect all assignments will eventually be completed.

You will receive another email on Friday that shows your students progress for the trimester.  An explanation of abbreviations is as follows:

  • Fini = finished (100% credit)

  • Corr = corrections (no credit until returned with corrections made)

  • Exc = your child was excused from this assignment (most likely because they are in another small group)

  • Pend = pending (the work has been turned in but not yet graded)

  • Inc = incomplete (the assignment needs to be completed and turned in for credit)

  • Late = the assignment was turned in late (100% credit given)
