Language Arts​

We will study parts of speech, proper sentence structure, and punctuation. These are daily lessons and assignments with a combination of worksheets and skyscrapers (hands on) as practice. We use Step Up to Writing to help build strong writers and emphasize the difference between social language and formal academic language.

This year we will be introducing the concept of a novel series and will be reading 4 books from the Ascendance series by Jennifer A. Nielsen, which is always very popular with the students.

In addition to the group lessons and work, we will also have individualized SRA work, IXL, and spelling.
